Event overview

Run the River Spring Challenge is scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Louise McKinney Riverfront Park in Edmonton, Alberta. The event offers three distance options:

  • 5 km
  • 10 km
  • Half marathon (21.1 km)

Entry fees vary by distance and registration period, with listed prices in the source ranging from CA$61.33 up to CA$93.64. A juniors program for children is held near the start/finish area on the grassy infield; space is limited and an adult guardian must remain on site.

Course and logistics

All routes start and finish at Louise McKinney Riverfront Park and follow the river valley pathways, running east along the river pathway from the lower-level waterfront park. The 5 km is a direct out-and-back. The 10 km comprises two laps between the turn points. The half marathon comprises three laps between the same turn points before returning to the finish. Race package pick up takes place the day before the event at Fast Trax (7326 101 Ave NW); participants select a pickup window to reduce congestion.
