Run the Ridge - LAKE FRONT - 5K Brain Tumor Awareness Event
Run the Ridge - LAKE FRONT is an outdoor 5K walk and run along the ridge of the lakefront at Burnham Park, 39th Oakwood Avenue and DuSable Lake Shore Drive, Chicago. The event is held rain or shine and is presented as a timed chipped run/walk with T shirts and finisher medals. Placement medals and team prizes are also part of the event awards.
The program includes vendor booths, health and business vendors, music and entertainment, a presentation segment, and an honor and memory ceremony. A balloon release is listed among event features. There is a tentative agenda for vendor setup, registration, presentations, the walk start, entertainment, and the honor and memory ceremony.
Fundraising plays a central role: individual registrations and team participation support brain tumor and cancer patients, scholarships, and research. Teams raise funds toward financial assistance, research, and grants, and top fundraising and largest member team awards are announced at the event. A portion of proceeds will benefit the National Brain Tumor Society and MESF scholars.
Registration options include individual and team entries. Pricing is tiered with an initial price for a chipped timed entry that includes T shirt and finisher medal, scheduled increases at later dates, and an onsite registration fee. T shirt sizes are guaranteed only until June 1, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
