Run The Mounds
Run The Mounds takes place at Mounds State Park in Anderson, IN. The event offers multiple distances for runners and walkers:
- 5 Miles run
- 5K run
- 5K walk
- 1 mile kids fun run
The courses are primarily trails, listed as 92% trail and 8% blacktop. Trails include natural features such as ruts, rocks, stumps, roots, leaves, and may present mud, water hazards, or slippery and icy conditions under certain weather.
Race bibs include timing chips; bibs should be worn on the front for scoring. There are two water stops on course located at the 1.5 mile and 3.0 mile marks. Volunteers will dispense water into cups, which are then collected for disposal.
Packet pickup for bibs and apparel is available on race day from 12:00 PM to 1:45 PM. Race apparel can be ordered during pre-registration and is only guaranteed if ordered by October 11; a limited number of apparel items may be available on race day. Pre-registration ends at 11:59 PM EST on October 28 or when events sell out. There is no day-of registration.
Parking at the park is limited; vehicles must use designated lots and not park on roads or in grass unless directed by a park ranger. All finishers receive a finisher medal. Post-race food and an award presentation for overall top finishers take place at the pavilion. Results are displayed at the finish area and compiled later in the evening.
