About the race
Run The Farm is a 12-hour endurance trail race held at Herold Wines in the Western Cape. Competitors complete repeated laps of a prepared mountain trail, with each loop measuring 5 km. The event records total laps completed over 12 hours to determine individual and team winners. There are four entry categories: individual, team of two, team of four, and a fun run/walk.
Team entries combine laps from each member to form a team total. The fun run covers a single 5 km lap and allows dogs on leashes. Finishers medals are awarded to athletes who complete the 12-hour challenge. Race support and facilities include a designated start/finish area for refuelling, hydration and resting between loops, an aid station, marked trail, medical support, and a shared hangout area for participants and supporters.
The race village has toilet facilities, a natural pool, vendor stalls, and space for participants to set up gazebos and tents the day before the event. A sports massage therapist will be available with limited spots. Branded caps will be offered for sale on the day. The winner in each class is the individual or team that completes the most laps in the 12 hours.
The event emphasises lap accumulation rather than split times. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
