Run the Dam for Davenport
Run the Dam for Davenport is a community fundraising event in Huntington, MA on September 5, 2026. The event follows the Gateway Regional School cross country course and starts on Littleville Road.
Distances:
- 5K run - 3.1 miles on pavement, fields and trails
- 1.5 mile walk - 1.5 miles ending at the Littleville Dam flagpole
The course surface includes pavement, a grassy field, and trails, and features three distinct inclines, including a steep incline at the Littleville Dam around the one mile mark. The finish line for both the walk and the run is at the flagpole atop the Littleville Dam viewing area at 32 Goss Hill Rd, Huntington.
All proceeds go directly to Davenport Child Care in Chesterfield, MA, which is approaching its 30th year of operation. Event details include a total registration limit of 100 and a field limit of 50 for the 5K. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and top three female runners in the 5K. Free t-shirts are guaranteed for the first 30 registered participants; additional shirts will be available for purchase on race day.
Bib pick-up and same day registration take place in the Gateway Regional School parking lot at 12 Littleville Rd in Huntington on September 5. Participants and spectators may use the boat ramp parking lot on Goss Hill with a short trail walk to the finish; closer parking at the dam is reserved for event staff and spectators with mobility challenges.
