About the Event

The Run Stubborn is an ultra trail race taking place at Carver's Creek State Park Sandhills in Fayetteville, North Carolina. It offers two distances: a 25k and a 50k.

The Course

The race uses a single 16-mile loop course. It includes trails, firebreaks, and a boundaryline dirt road. Runners will pass several lakes and ponds. The terrain features sections with sand, tree-lined trails, some technical parts, potential water crossings, roots, ruts, and other natural obstacles. The course is designed without any out-and-back sections or two-way traffic. For the 50k, participants run two laps of the loop, with a hard cutoff to start the second loop and a total finish time limit of 9 hours. The 25k is a single loop.

Aid Stations and Rules

There are two unmanned aid stations on the loop: one near mile 5 (water only) and one near mile 11 (water and light snacks). The event is a cupless race, so participants must bring their own hydration equipment. More hydration and fuel will be available at the start/finish area. Dogs and children under 14 years of age are not allowed at the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
