Run Stanley
Run Stanley is an annual community event held at Stanley Park in Westfield, Massachusetts. The event features multiple race categories designed for various participants, including runners, walkers, and dog owners. The proceeds from the event support the maintenance of the Frank Stanley Beveridge Wildlife Sanctuary and the accessible pathways throughout the park.
Participants can choose from several event options:
- 5k Run/Walk: A 3.1 mile trail course.
- K9 5k Run/Walk: A 3.1 mile trail race for one human and one dog.
- The Stroll & Roll: A 1 mile non-competitive walk on accessible pathways.
- 5k Student: A trail race for elementary, high school, or college students up to age 24.
- Kid's Munchkin Run: A fun run specifically for children.
The 5K categories include awards for the first place male and female finishers, as well as recognition for the oldest and youngest finishers of the 5k Run/Walk. For the Kid's Munchkin Run, the participating school with the highest number of entries receives the Stanley Cup School Spirit Trophy.
Registration typically includes a t-shirt for those who sign up by the September deadline, while K9 participants also receive a bandana. On the day of the event, a Vendor Village is set up for attendees to visit. The course environment consists of park trails and designated accessible pathways.
