Run Richmond 16.19

Run Richmond 16.19 is a commemorative sports event held in Richmond, Virginia, organized by the Djimon Hounsou Foundation. The event marks significant milestones in history, serving as a partner for Virginia 250 and the Black Girls Run National Conference. The courses are designed to take participants through more than 400 years of Black history, focusing on themes of unity in diversity and the achievements of African Americans.

The event features two distinct distances:

  • 16.19 km (10.1 miles)
  • 8.1 km (5.0 miles)

The 16.19 km run is the signature distance of the event, including a section known as "The Hill We Climb." The 8.1 km course is designated as a run or walk, featuring time limits that accommodate walkers and families. Both distances share a common start and finish point at Abner Clay Park in Richmond.

Participants have the option to manage their registration through a self-service portal, which allows for transferring entries to other individuals or changing between the race distances, provided there is availability. While entries are non-refundable, registration protection is available via a third-party provider. The event also offers a mobile app for participants and spectators to follow race weekend activities and results. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
