Run Ragged Last Person Standing : Berlin, CT
This event is a last person standing loop race held on Ragged Mountain. Runners must complete a roughly 3.11 mile loop within a one-hour time limit; the loop repeats and runners who are not in line at the start of the next loop or who fail to finish within the hour are eliminated. The process continues until one runner completes a loop within the allotted time; there is no second place and no ties.
The course is described as rugged, hilly, and technical; it is not a track or a rail trail. Field size is limited to 55 entrants. Entry fees are $50 or $40 for CT Trailmixers members, and race day registration is not available. There are no bib transfers and no refunds.
Trailhead parking is available at 437 West Lane, Berlin, CT 06037. Regular aid station fare will be provided, and each runner has space for one chair and a small cooler at the start/finish area; participants with specific dietary needs should plan to provide for themselves. Pacers are not allowed.
Organizers require a headlamp with backup batteries for night hours; a rear-facing light, emergency blanket, and whistle are listed as optional. A runner manual is provided and participants are expected to read it before arriving. Race proceeds support local organizations, including the Connecticut Forest & Parks Association and the CT Trailmixers Shoe Scholarship Program.
