Run Paddle Run - Montgomery Whitewater
Montgomery Whitewater presents a multi-discipline adventure race that combines running and paddling on the park property. The course begins with a run, includes a creek-channel paddle on inflatable duckies, and finishes with a second run back to the raft barn. The transition area is located in front of the raft barn.
- Run: two 1.5 mile segments, total 3 miles
- Paddle: 2,200 feet in a creek channel using inflatable duckies
Registration costs $35 and the event is open to participants aged 13 and up. Registration includes a race bib and a race t-shirt for those registered by July 9. Whitewater equipment is provided and required items include a helmet, personal flotation device, a single ducky, and a double-bladed paddle. Personal kayaks are not allowed; only Montgomery Whitewater official duckies may be used.
Awards include trophies for overall first, second, and third places in both female and male categories, and medals for all finishers. The race is not officially clocked or chipped. The event is planned to proceed in varied weather, but may be rescheduled or canceled in the case of thunderstorms or tornado warnings.
Additional participant benefits listed by the organizer include a discount on select Wednesday night ducky trips for registered racers and a discount on Activity Day Passes during a specified date range.
