Run Nona 5K
The Run Nona 5K & Nemours Children's Run is a community sports event held in Lake Nona Town Center. The evening features a chip-timed race and a variety of family activities focused on health and wellness. The event supports the Lake Nona Life Project, a research study dedicated to improving longevity and wellness within the community.
The following distances are available:
- 5 km
- 1 mile (for children)
- 100 yards (for children)
The 5 km course takes place on paved surfaces near the intersection of Tavistock Lakes Blvd. and Lake Nona Blvd. It is a chip-timed race using B-Tag technology. Participants must be able to maintain a 15-minute-per-mile pace to remain on the roadways; those moving slower will be directed to the sidewalk. Strollers are permitted but must start behind designated signage and maintain a pace no faster than 12 minutes per mile.
The Nemours Children's Run is designed for participants aged 12 and under, with distances ranging from 100 yards to 1 mile based on age groups. A dedicated Kids Zone features activities such as face painting, balloon artists, and red ball tennis. After the races, a block party is held at the Town Center featuring live music and food.
Participants receive a tech t-shirt and a finisher medal. Awards are presented to top overall finishers, masters, wheelchair athletes, and the top three in various age categories. A Team Challenge is also available for corporate or civic groups with at least 15 members. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
