Run Media City Christmas 5k & 10k
Run Media City Christmas is a festive city-centre race taking place on 19 December 2026 at Media City Piazza. The event offers two distances:
- 5 km
- 10 km
The course follows a 2.5 km loop that crosses the Millennium Bridge, passes the Imperial War Museum and runs around the ITV and BBC studios. The route is marked each kilometre with distance flags and marshals are positioned along the course to guide and encourage runners.
The event supports Salford Foodbank, the chosen charity of the year, which feeds and supports more than 200 families in crisis each week. Entries include a unique themed medal, free official race photos, chip-timed results and post-race goodies. An event village provides food and drink options and free partner goodies at the finish.
The organiser highlights sustainability as an important focus and provides information about its sustainability measures. An event t-shirt is available at a discount when purchased as part of entry.
