Run Like the Windpipe Fundraiser
This fundraiser is hosted by the Eldoret Airway Surgery Program through the University of Alberta and takes place on September 27, 2026 at Sir Wilfrid Laurier Park, Picnic Site #8, 13221 Buena Vista Rd NW, Edmonton, AB, Canada.
The event offers multiple distances and supports global surgical care partnerships focused on education, surgical training, and improving access to specialized airway and reconstructive care worldwide.
Distances offered:
- 10 km run
- 5 km run
- 5 km walk
- 1 km walk
- Kids categories for ages 7 to 12 and for age 6 and under
The 10 km route follows paved river valley trails, passes the Equine Centre, climbs toward Saskatchewan Drive, and loops back through Laurier Park. The 5 km route follows winding river valley trails with views of the North Saskatchewan River. Participant items include a t-shirt and a goodie bag, and coffee, snacks, and refreshments will be available. The event is described as family friendly and focused on community connection. Day of registration is available, but t-shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for registrations after September 5. Race kit pickup is scheduled for Saturday, September 19 at 8537 109 Street, Edmonton.
