Run Like a Fool 5K

Event
The Run Like a Fool race takes place in Olympia, Washington on April 19, 2026, at Heritage Park (610 Water Street Southwest). The event includes these distances:
- 5K
- Kids Run (ages 12 and under)
The course is described as flat with two laps around Capitol Lake. The 5K field is limited to 300 participants and the kids race is limited to 150.
Registration and packet pickup
Registration is handled online. Pricing for the 5K is tiered: $35 through April 11, 2026; $40 April 12 through April 18, 2026; and $45 on race day. The Kids Run is free. Club Oly members receive a $5 discount at checkout. Group discounts apply - $10 off per person for groups of four, and $13 off per person for groups of five or more; group registrations are not eligible for the member discount.
Packet pickup is available the day before at Fleet Feet, 3405 Capitol Blvd SE, Olympia, and on race day at Heritage Park by the start area. All registration is online and closes on the day of the race.
Awards and extras
Awards include top 3 overall for men, women, and nonbinary, top 3 in each 10-year age group, and top 3 wackiest costumes. Results will be posted online immediately after the race. The first 275 participants will receive a giveaway item and a medal; kids receive a kiddie medal or ribbon. Gear check is provided with labeled bag procedures.
