Run Galway Bay
Run Galway Bay is a road running event in Galway City held on October 3, 2026, with the race village based at Nimmo’s Pier, Claddagh. The event offers three distances:
- 10K
- Half Marathon
- Full Marathon
Organisers expect up to 4,000 participants. At the time of publication the half and full marathon entries are sold out. Race numbers will be posted to participants in the week before the event; there is no number pickup and numbers will not be posted to incomplete addresses. Safety pins are not included in mailed packs but will be available at the start area.
There is no bag drop this year. Pacing groups will not be provided following a health and safety review. Water stations are positioned along each course: for the 10K at mile 3 and the finish; for the half marathon at miles 1, 4, 7, 10 and the finish; and for the full marathon at miles 1, 2, 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23 and the finish. Toilets and medical cover will be available on the route.
Organisers encourage arrival on foot or by public transport where possible. Ceannt Station is about one mile from the start and parking around Galway is metered. Participants should follow instructions from race marshals, Gardaí and medical staff and are asked not to wear headphones for safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
