Run Galway Bay takes place in Galway City, featuring a flat and fast course along the coastline. The event is scheduled for October 3rd, 2026, and expects to host between 4,000 and 5,000 participants. All routes begin at Nimmo's Pier in Claddagh.

Course and Logistics
The marathon route follows the shores of Galway Bay. Water stations are positioned at regular intervals for all categories. For the 10 km, stations are located at mile 3; for the Half Marathon, they are at miles 1, 4, 7, and 10; and for the Full Marathon, they are available at roughly three-mile intervals starting from mile 1.
Due to the nature of the course, pacing groups are not provided. There is no official bag drop facility at the race village. Race numbers are delivered via post in the week preceding the event, and participants are expected to provide their own safety pins, though some are available at the start area if required.
Accessibility
The race village at Nimmo's Pier is approximately a 15-minute walk from Eyre Square. Galway is accessible via Ceannt Train Station and various bus services. Local transport options include city buses, taxis, and public bicycle hire. For those traveling by car, several pay-and-display parking lots are available near the start line, including facilities at Merchant's Road.
