Run Forrest Run 5K, Beaufort SC
The Run Forrest Run 5K takes place on October 3, 2026 at Freedom Mall on Bay Street, with the start/finish near the downtown marina at 1006 Bay Street, Beaufort, SC 29902. The event offers two participation options on a USATF certified course SC18010DW: a timed 5K walk/run and an untimed walk. The route crosses the Woods Memorial Bridge and runs along the Beaufort River.
T-shirt pickup is available the day before at Grounded Running (2139 Boundary St Unit 108) and at the race start/finish. The untimed walk entry includes a T-shirt. Packet pickup and day of registration are handled at the start/finish location.
Registration opens June 16, 2026. Fee tiers listed for the event are: pre-registration prior to September 1, 2026 $40, regular registration September 1 to October 1, 2026 $45, and late registration on October 2 and 3 $50.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers and to the top three male and female finishers in age groups 8–12, 13–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70+. The event includes themed costume elements and a Fastest Forrest award for participants in Forrest Gump attire. It is also part of the Beaufort Triple Crown Race Series; series finishers receive a medal charm for each race.
The race is a fundraiser for the Beaufort Digital Corridor Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on workforce development and equitable access to technology careers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
