Run for Your Life 5K - Color Fun Run
The Run for Your Life 5K is the 8th annual color fun run held in Gainesville at 874 SE 4 St, Gainesville, FL 32601. The event raises funds and awareness about substance misuse in Alachua County and supports the Alachua County Health Promotion and Wellness Coalition, a nonprofit that provides prevention services and health education to youth and adults.
Event activities include breakfast for participants, a fitness instructor warm-up, and a community fair featuring resources from local organizations. The course includes six color powder stations along the track. At the finish there will be raffle prize announcements and medal distribution, followed by a group photo. Raffle prizes listed include gift cards from 4 Rivers Smokehouse, Cheesecake Factory, Jeremiah's Ice, and Gator Domino's as well as a grand prize basket.
The event hosts an on-site medication collection and disposal through Rx Destroyer; all medications are accepted except sharps and inhalers. This is a fun run and times will not be recorded; participants may use their own timing devices. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a registered adult or parent.
