Run for the STARS 2026
Run for the STARS 2026 is a community event on September 19, 2026 in Wheaton, Illinois, hosted by College Church at 332 E. Seminary Ave. The event has been held for 23 years with the stated purpose of bringing people together to support individuals with disabilities and their families.
The event program includes multiple distances:
- 5K
- 50 yard Kids Dash (7 years old and under)
- 50 yard STARS Dash
Registration opens June 10, 2026. Registration closing dates differ by event: the 5K registration closes August 1, 2026; the Kids Dash registration closes September 17, 2026; the STARS Dash registration closes September 16, 2026. Posted registration fees are $30 for the 5K and $12 for each 50 yard dash.
One hundred percent of event proceeds are designated to support the STARS community. Funds are used for scholarships that enable STARS to attend retreats or summer camps either individually or with family, and to provide a grant to STARS Family Services, a separate 401(c)3 that offers job coaching for STARS participants.
The course follows an all-new route through the tree-lined streets of Wheaton. The event includes options to run, walk, or support through donations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
