Run for the Rose - 5K, 10K, 10M, and Half Marathon
The Run for the Rose is a Mother's Day road race held on May 10, 2026 at Alamitos Beach in Long Beach, California. The event offers multiple distances and invites participants to run, jog, or walk with a mother figure.
Distances offered:
- 5k
- 10k
- 10 mile
- Half marathon
The course uses out-and-back segments along the beach path. The 5k route is one lap for the 5k and two laps for the 10k. The 10-mile distance uses a 5-mile route run twice. The half marathon combines two laps of the 5-mile route and one lap of the 5k route. The beach path is an open course; runners are asked to stay on the right side for pedestrians while cyclists use the left side.
On-course support includes a fully stocked water station and a finish-line aid station with water, electrolytes, gels, and fruit snacks. Each station has a first aid kit and crew members trained in CPR. Course turns are marked with chalk, signage, and flags.
Logistics: parking in the lot is paid by the hour with a listed rate of $2 per hour and street parking is free; half and 10-mile participants may use the Passport app for lot payment. Bibs should be worn on the front of the shirt. A gear check is available at the registration tent; participants should bring their own bag. All finishers receive a medal and overall first place male and female in each distance receive first place medals. Results and photos are distributed after the event.
