Run for the River - Asbury
The 26th Annual Run for the River in Asbury, New Jersey features a 4-mile loop open to runners and walkers. The course is mostly flat and passes streams, pastures, historic buildings, and the Musconetcong River. Start and finish are at Franklin Township Fire Department Station 3, with parking available at 410 Old Main Street, Asbury, NJ 08802.
Awards are presented to the first three male and first three female finishers in multiple age categories, plus best overall awards.
The event is an annual fundraiser for the Musconetcong Watershed Association (MWA), a nonprofit formed in 1992. MWA’s mission is to protect and improve the Musconetcong River and its watershed through education and outreach to local schools, landowners, and municipal officials. The organization conducts river cleanups and stream bank restoration projects.
Proceeds support MWA programs including the education program, River Watcher program, hiking and paddling trips, and River Talks. Registration opens October 31, 2026 and closes April 18, 2027. The listed registration fee is $35. Registrants who register before April 18 may select a commemorative short-sleeved t-shirt and will receive a swag bag. Race-day registration is offered.
