Run for the Ring 5K Run/Walk & Kids Fun Run
Run for the Ring is a fundraising event for the Children's Diabetes Foundation held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at The Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes on the CU Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. The event supports programs and research related to type 1 diabetes.
The event offers the following race options:
- 5K Run/Walk, professionally timed around the Anschutz Medical Campus
- Kids Fun Run, for ages 2 to 10 in the Kids' Zone
The Kids' Zone includes bounce houses, mazes, spray/water activities, and other outdoor play. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times; participants are encouraged to arrange supervision for children while an adult runs.
Registration for the 5K and Fun Run includes breakfast bites, a race bib, and a Run for the Ring souvenir t-shirt. The 5K includes a timing chip. Participants with type 1 diabetes may choose an "I'm the 1" t-shirt and can decorate a back bib reading "Running for my 1." A Sleep-In Registration option allows participants to support the cause without attending in person and includes a mailed performance t-shirt.
Registration pricing for 2026:
- Early-Bird (May 15–June 26): Adult 5K $37.50, Kid 5K/Fun Run $14.50
