Run for the Planet – Half Marathon and other distances
Run for the Planet takes place on April 19, 2026 at Granada Beach, 5100 E Ocean Blvd, Long Beach, CA. The event offers multiple measured running distances on an out-and-back beach path.
Distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 10 Miler
- Half Marathon (13.1 Miles)
Course notes describe how loops are combined: the 5k route is used for the 5K (one lap) and 10K (two laps); the 10m uses a 5m route run twice; the Half runs the 5m route twice and the 5k route once. The beach path is an open course; runners are asked to keep to the right side for pedestrians while the left side is for cyclists.
On-course support includes a fully stocked water station, a finish aid station with water, electrolytes, gels, and fruit snacks, and first aid kits at each station. Course turns are marked with chalk, a runner turn sign, and a flag. Crew members have received CPR training.
Logistics: parking in the Granada Beach lot is $2 per hour and street parking is free; the Passport app can be used for lot payment for some distances. Race bibs should be worn on the front of the shirt. A gear check is available at the registration tent; participants should bring their own bag. All finishers receive a race medal; overall first place male and female receive first place medals per distance. Results and photos are emailed after the race; race photos are free.
