Run for the Planet - Half Marathon
Run for the Planet takes place in Long Beach, California on April 17, 2027. The event is based at 5400 E Ocean Blvd and comprises multiple running distances together with a community beach cleanup and a finish line festival.
The scheduled race distances include:
- Go Green 5K 3.1 Miles
- Coastal Green 10K 6.2 Miles
- Earth Day Endurance Half Marathon 13.1 Miles
- Eco 1 Miler 1 Miles
- Planet Protectors Kids Dash 400 Yards
Event services and results features stated by the organizer include professional chip timing, free race photos with unlimited downloads, and a finisher medal for all participants. Age group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each 10 year division, and overall awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in each distance.
The event describes an eco friendly approach, including encouragement of cup free racing, support for zero waste initiatives, planet friendly swag and materials, and partnerships that direct some proceeds to related causes.
A separate Beach Cleanup activity is part of the day's schedule. Supplies are provided and can be picked up at the Race Ready Athletics Tent.
