Event Overview
Run for the Kids is an annual community event held in Rondeau Provincial Park, supporting the Children's Treatment Centre (CTC) Foundation of Chatham-Kent. Now in its fourth year, this run, walk, and move event takes place on fully paved routes, making the courses accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, and wagons.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5 km Run/Walk/Wheel
- 200 m Kids Fun Race
Registered participants receive complimentary entrance to the provincial park, a race bib, a 2026 participant buff, and a finisher medal. Those participating in the 5 km event will also receive a timed race result. The course features aid stations equipped with water, snacks, and music to support participants along the way.
The event grounds include accessible washrooms and tents situated on grassy areas. Following the races, a post-run party features a hot dog BBQ, snacks, and family-friendly activities. Funds raised through the event support critical services for local youth, including specialized equipment, mental health services, therapeutic recreation, and music therapy.
