Event Overview
The Run for the Corn is a running and walking event held in Eden, New York. The course is situated on North Main Street, located immediately south of the Eden Corn Festival Grounds. This event provides participants with an opportunity to traverse a variety of terrains within the local landscape during the annual festival period.
Course Details
The event features two distinct distances that begin simultaneously before dividing later in the route. The terrain is described as fast and mostly flat, categorized as non-technical. Participants move through several woods trails and cover significant portions of the Eden High School Cross Country course. Some sections within the wooded areas may be wet depending on local conditions.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 2.2 miles (Short Course)
- 3.8 miles (Long Course)
The routes remain joined for approximately the first 3/4 mile of the race before the paths split into the short and long options. Both runners and walkers are permitted to participate in these events. Registration is required to enter, with the courses utilizing the local school grounds and natural trail paths.
