Run For The 97 5K : Stanley Park, Liverpool
Run For The 97 is an annual community legacy fun run organised by BTR Liverpool to remember the 97 people who died at Hillsborough on 15 April 1989. The 13th edition takes place on 30 May 2027 and offers both in-person and virtual participation.

The 5K course starts in the middle of Stanley Park and follows park pathways. Around the 2-kilometre mark it exits the park to pass Goodison Park, Priory Road and Arkles Lane before heading toward Anfield. The route passes the Eternal Flame at Anfield, then performs a U-turn and returns to Stanley Park for the finish.
Entry is limited to 2,500 places. Age rules state the 5K is for participants aged 11 and over and the 1 Mile event is for ages 3 and up. Prices listed for 2027 include separate fees for event and virtual entries, with different international postage rates for virtual international participants. Finishers receive a goody bag, an exclusive medal, and a T-shirt for 5K entrants. Fundraising supports local charity partners, including the 23 Foundation, LFC Foundation, and Stanley Park junior parkrun, and more than £35,000 has been raised since the event began in 2015.
