Run For The 97 5K
Run For The 97 5K is a community based legacy event that in 2026 will be held for the 12th time to remember the 97 people who lost their lives at Hillsborough stadium in 1989 and those who survived that day. The event promotes the work of local charities, including the LFC Foundation, 23 Foundation and Junior Parkrun.
For 2026 the event is scheduled for 23 May and is held on the last Saturday of the Premier League season, with exclusive use of Stanley Park for participants. The event offers in-person and virtual options and includes a 1 mile fun run alongside the main 5 km event.
