Run For The 97 5K
Run For The 97 is a community legacy event held on 29 May 2027 at Stanley Park and Garden in Liverpool. The event commemorates the 97 people who died at Hillsborough in 1989 and supports local charity partners. The event was first staged in 2015 and has raised more than £35,000 for charity.

The 5K course begins in the middle of Stanley Park, follows park pathways, and at around 2 km exits to run around the park perimeter. The route passes Goodison Park, Priory Road and Arkles Lane en route to Anfield, continues along Anfield Road to the Eternal Flame, then returns to Stanley Park for the finish.
Entry and participation details include age limits and entry caps: the 5K is open to participants aged 11 and up, the 1 Mile event is open to children aged 3 and up, and overall entries are limited to 2,500. In-person entries include a finisher goody bag, an exclusive 5K finisher T-shirt, and a commemorative medal. Virtual entrants worldwide receive a T-shirt and medal by post; UK virtual entry closes 4 May 2027 and international virtual entry closes 19 April 2027, but postal delivery before 29 May 2027 cannot be guaranteed.
