Event Details
The Run for Sweet Caroline is a first annual event taking place in Boca Raton, Florida. The event honors Caroline Rhine, who passed away from a rare cancer called leiomyosarcoma.
Course & Events
The event features two distances:
- 5K Run / Walk
- 1 Mile Fun Run / Walk
All participants receive a finisher medal. Awards are given for top three overall (male/female) and by age group in five-year increments for the 5K.
Charity & Theme
Thanks to sponsor donations covering event costs, 100% of funds from registration fees and additional donations will support sarcoma awareness, patient education and assistance, and sarcoma research through several named foundations and cancer centers. The event's theme features sunflowers, a symbol of sarcoma awareness for nearly two decades.
Additional Activities
The event includes race t-shirts, fun giveaways, and family activities such as face painting, air brush tattoos, and shave ice. Free health screenings are offered courtesy of the U Health Game Changer vehicle. Water is provided at stations and at the finish line. Professional race timing is provided by Accuchip Timing.
