Event Details
The Run For Sweet Caroline is the first annual event in honor of Caroline Rhine, who passed away from leiomyosarcoma, a rare cancer. The event supports sarcoma awareness, patient education and assistance, and sarcoma research through several organizations. All funds raised from registration fees and donations go to this cause.
The event features a sunflower theme, as the sunflower is a long-standing symbol of sarcoma awareness.
Distances
- A 5K run/walk
- A 1 mile fun run/walk
Participants receive a finisher medal. Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as top three in five-year age groups. The event offers team participation and fundraising competitions.
Location and Logistics
The run takes place in Boca Raton, Florida, at 1000 Spanish River Blvd. Race timing is provided by Accuchip Timing. Water stations are available on the course, with water bottles at the finish line. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
