Trail Running in Dayville
The Run For Ryan Memorial Run is a family-friendly community event held at Owen Bell Park in Dayville, Connecticut. This event honors the memory of Ryan French, a former student and athlete at Killingly High School. All proceeds are directed to a memorial scholarship fund that supports seniors from the Killingly Ag-Ed program as they pursue higher education.
The event offers several participation options:
- 5K run on off-road paths
- Walk event following a similar outdoor route
- Kids Fun Run which is free for younger participants
The race course consists of off-road trails. These paths include natural terrain such as exposed roots and rocks, which may present trip hazards. Due to the nature of the terrain, all participants must sign a liability waiver during the registration process. Entry is managed exclusively through online registration, which remains open until shortly before the events begin on race day.
Participants in the 5K and Walk events receive a race shirt, subject to availability at the time of registration. Awards are presented to the top overall male, female, and non-binary finishers. Additionally, age group awards are provided for categories ranging from 11 years and under to 70 years and older. Incentives are also offered for establishing new course records.
