Run for Rocky 5 km Run / 3 km Walk : Dieppe Gardens, Windsor (August 8, 2026)
Run for Rocky is a community run and walk held in conjunction with Windsor‑Essex Pride Fest Weekend. The event offers two main distances:
- 5 km run
- 3 km walk
The route begins at Dieppe Gardens and follows the Windsor waterfront, including the Windsor Sculpture Park, with views of the Detroit River and the Ambassador Bridge. Leashed dogs, baby strollers and children's wagons are permitted.
Every participant receives a 2026 commemorative pin and a ticket to a University of Windsor women's soccer game. Registration categories include options packaged with a T‑shirt or a hoodie, as well as a basic registration option.
Fundraising supports the Run for Rocky Legacy Project, which provides financial support to local Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) clubs in secondary and post‑secondary schools. Support includes GSA grants and scholarships, funding for student and educator attendance at GSA conferences, educational resources and booster boxes, and diversity training for educators. A portion of funds is allocated to local 2SLGBTQIA+ agencies, including Windsor Pride Community, Windsor‑Essex Pride Fest and Trans Wellness Windsor. Tax receipts are issued for donations over CA$20.
Prizes are awarded to top individual fundraisers and the team that raises the most funds receives a rotating Run for Rocky trophy. Although the event is not timed, medals are awarded to top finishers in multiple age categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
