Run For Rett 2026
Run For Rett 2026 is an in person and virtual running event held on May 2, 2026, at Busse Woods Grove 26 in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. The event includes two distances and a community atmosphere in a forest preserve setting.

The in person course uses paths through the forest preserve with the start and finish at Grove 26. Free parking is available on site. The event offers post race activities and awards for in person 5K participants, including overall male and female winners and the top three male and female finishers in these age groups: 14 and under; 15 to 19; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; 60 and over.
A virtual option is offered with a window for completing the distance and submitting results. T shirts are provided to participants, and a limited number of shirts are available on site. Participants who raise over $100 in donations may participate for free when donations are received by the organizer before April 16, 2026.
The event benefits the International Rett Syndrome Foundation. Rett syndrome is described as a rare non inherited genetic neurological disorder that typically appears between six and eighteen months of age and can cause severe impairments in speech, movement, eating, and breathing, along with characteristic repetitive hand movements.
