Run for Reconciliation : #RUNREMREC Kisakihikawin St. Albert

The sixth annual Run Walk for Reconciliation in St. Albert focuses on raising awareness about the children of Residential Schools. The event is scheduled for July 1, 2026 and follows a marked route from Lions Park to the St Albert Healing Garden, where time is set aside for reflection.

Participants receive an orange ribbon to carry along the route and may tie it to the gazebo posts at the Healing Garden. Cards and markers are available for those who wish to leave a written message with their ribbon. Indigenous dancers, drummers, and guest speakers will be present during the gathering.

Dogs on leash are permitted. Restroom facilities are available at the start location. Free parking is adjacent to Lions Park and paid parking is located across the street. The event notes that all funds raised will go directly to Poundmaker's Lodge Treatment Centres, an Indigenous addiction treatment centre near Edmonton.

Organizers acknowledge that the gathering takes place on Treaty 6 territory, the traditional lands of First Nations and Métis peoples, and recognize the ongoing importance of Indigenous knowledge keepers and elders. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
