Run for Reconciliation - Kisakihikawin St. Albert
The 6th annual Run/Walk for Reconciliation takes place on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in St. Albert. The event starts at Lions Park and finishes at the St. Albert Healing Garden. Its stated purpose is to raise awareness about the children of Residential Schools and to raise funds for local supports related to that cause.
The route is marked. Participants receive an orange ribbon to carry during the walk or run and may tie that ribbon to gazebo posts at the Healing Garden; cards and markers are available for leaving messages. Indigenous dancers, drummers, and guest speakers are scheduled at the Healing Garden for communal reflection and acknowledgement.
Practical details on site include on-site toilets at the start, free parking beside Lions Park, and paid parking across the street. Dogs on leash are permitted on the route. Funds raised will support the Edmonton Aboriginal Seniors Centre, an organization that provides culturally grounded programming, gatherings, and supports for Indigenous seniors and their communities.
