Run for Hope 5K
The Run for Hope 5K is an inaugural fundraising event organized by Mountaintop Boys Home. The event is held at the Calhoun Recreation Center in Calhoun, Georgia. Mountaintop Boys Home is a group home and foster care agency for teen boys located on more than 350 acres of property. The organization focuses on providing a family-style living environment and individual care for children in crisis.
Participants have multiple options for involvement:
- 5K - An in-person road race following a certified course (number GA25056WC).
- 5K Virtual - A remote option where participants can run, walk, or roller skate at their own pace in a location of their choice.
- Phantom Runner - A non-participation category for those who wish to support the cause and receive a race shirt without running.
The in-person race features several award categories. Recognition is given to the overall male and female winners, as well as masters male and female winners. Additionally, awards are presented to the top three male and female participants across various age groups, starting from age 9 and under, up to 70 and older.
Proceeds from the event support the mission of providing hope and healing to children and families. The race will take place at the Calhoun Recreation Center located at 601 S River St. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
