Run for Honor - 5K for Freedom
Run for Honor is a timed 5K (3.1 miles) held in Lincoln Park, Springfield, Illinois on September 27, 2026. The event is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. Proceeds benefit the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight, which helps local veterans travel to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at memorials.
Registration opens February 23, 2026 and closes September 26, 2026. The listed registration fee is $30. Packet pick-up is available on site the morning of the event. Registration includes pre and post-race snacks, drinks, and a finisher medal for every participant; top finishers in each age group receive additional award medals. Main parking will be available at Nelson Center. Race start and the staging area will be barricaded off. Restrooms are available at the staging area and inside Nelson Center.
