Run for Cancer Funds
The Run for Cancer Funds takes place at Loganville Christian Academy in Loganville, Georgia. This event is organized by two high school seniors as part of a senior project to support cancer treatment. Financial proceeds from the event, after initial costs are met, are donated to Emory Winship to assist patients with the costs of their cancer treatment.
Participants can choose between two primary distances held on the school's cross country course:
- 1 Mile
- 3.1 Miles (5k)
The race route consists of a cross country course that features rough ground and uneven terrain. The 3.1 Miles event is designed as a two-lap course. Because the path includes various uphill and downhill sections and is not flat, the course is not suitable for strollers.
The event is open to individuals of all ages, and participants are welcome to either run or walk the distances. Recognition is provided for top performers, with medals awarded to the top three finishers in each age group. The event serves as a community effort to contribute to the fight against cancer through physical activity and donations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
