Run by the Sea
Run by the Sea takes place on October 4, 2026 at Wilder Ranch State Park in Santa Cruz, California. The event offers three distances and uses park trails along the coastal bluffs.

- 12K
- 4K run/walk
The course runs mostly on flat, packed dirt trails and follows sections of Wilder Ranch park paths and bluff-top routes. Participants pass coastal bluffs and meadows with views of Monterey Bay. The route may allow occasional wildlife sightings near the shore.
The event is organized by the Santa Cruz Track Club and is in its tenth year. Proceeds benefit the track club's youth program, Bike Santa Cruz County, and Santa Cruz Mountain Trail Stewards.
Registration opens January 6, 2026. Registration closes June 2, 2026 for the 4K and 12K, and April 10, 2026 for the Half Marathon. Published fees are $45 for the 4K, $55 for the 12K, and $70 for the Half Marathon. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
