Run 2 Read 2 Miler
The Run 2 Read 2 Miler is a community running event held on 07/24/2026 in Fairmont, West Virginia, at 205 12th Street near the 12th Street Pool. The event features a single-loop 2 Miles course that begins near East-West Stadium and finishes in front of the 12th Street Pool entrance. The route is a rolling course through residential neighborhoods on Fairmont's west side.
There is one water stop at the halfway point (about 1 mile) and finish line refreshments. Bathrooms are available at the pool. Pool access, food, and family activities at the 12th Street Pool are included with registration.
Registration opens 05/07/2026 and closes 07/24/2026. The registration fee is $30.00. Run 2 Read t-shirts will be available for runners who register before 07/10/2026; possible extras may be available on race day. The event policy states there are no registration refunds for any reason, including weather.
Awards include overall prizes for the top three female and top three male finishers, top three in the male and female Masters Division (age 40 and older), and first-place awards in each age group. The race is sponsored by the Marion County Running and Walking Club; a portion of proceeds will be donated to Literacy Volunteers of Marion County, a United Way agency and 501(c)(3).
