Rumba on the Lumber races in Lumberton, NC
The event on March 6, 2027 takes place at Chestnut and 4th Streets in Lumberton, North Carolina, and is part of the Rumba on the Lumber festival. The race courses are measured and certified and are described as very flat and fast. The course route passes through downtown streets and along the Lumber River. The event includes organized race check-in on race day and an early check-in during the Food Truck Extravaganza the previous day. Registration is handled through RunSignUp; sponsored runners register with sponsor vouchers and must check in to receive a bib.
Race services and amenities for 5K and 10K participants include a free t-shirt, with shirt size guaranteed for registrations completed before February 1. All 5K and 10K entrants receive free entrance to the Chili Roundup that follows these races; the Chili Roundup includes unlimited chili tastings and two beverages, with alcoholic beverages limited to those 21 and older. Prize money is awarded in the 5K and 10K for overall, masters, and grand masters divisions with specified amounts for places one through three.
