Event Overview
Rule the Roost is an annual trail running event held in Chillicothe, Ohio. The event serves as the finale for the RunFluent Ohio Trail Series and takes place in mid-October. This edition marks the third year of the competition, which is held in a limited-access location.
Course Details
The race course consists entirely of trails, featuring hard-packed surfaces that are wide in most areas. Certain sections of the route are more technical. Participants run past various natural features, including cliffs and overlooks, during the autumn season.
The event offers several race formats:
- 12 hour solo endurance race
- 12 hour 2-person relay
- 7k trail run
- Youth 7k trail run
Amenities and Logistics
The course includes a full aid station at the end of each loop and an additional hydration station located mid-loop. Spectators and crew members have access to the site to support participants. Participants may set up tents on Friday evening prior to the race. All finishers receive a commemorative award and an event shirt.
