Ruff Run presented by Paws of Coronado
The Ruff Run is an annual event held at Tidelands Park on Coronado Island. This sports event focuses on the participation of both humans and their dogs, supporting the vision of Paws of Coronado to aid local animal shelter efforts. The event features two primary distances starting and finishing within the park:
- 5K
- 1.5 Mile Walk
The course includes one aid station designed to serve both human participants and dogs. For safety, all dogs must remain on a non-retractable leash throughout the event and must be social around other animals and people.
Participants receive several items as part of their registration, including a t-shirt for humans, an official dog water bowl, a finisher medal for the dog, and a swag bag. The event provides live finish results and rankings for participants. While all runners are timed, overall and age group division awards are specifically reserved for those participating with a dog.
The event supports Paws of Coronado in providing medical care, emergency surgeries, and behavioral support for animals.
