Rucks On Main Veterans Day Ruck March takes place on November 7, 2026 at the Santa Fe Plaza in downtown Temple, Texas. The event is a military themed ruck march held to honor Veterans and The Fallen and is open to everyone.
Participants carry non perishable food items in rucksacks to be donated to charitable organizations; participants are asked to use up to 40 pounds but may carry whatever weight they are comfortable with. The route covers about 6 miles through downtown and historic neighborhoods in North Temple. The event is chip timed.
Each participant receives a t shirt before the march and a small gift upon completion. Shirts are guaranteed to registrations received by October 8; limited quantities of extra shirts will be available afterward. Participants who register 30 days or fewer before the event are not guaranteed a t shirt or gift. Registration is completed on a personal device with credit card only, and race day check in and packet pick up are offered.
Squads consist of exactly five individuals of any gender mix and are scored by the combined time of all five members. Each squad member must carry a minimum of 40 pounds. There is a one time squad setup fee of $25 added to the registrant who creates the squad. All changes or additions to squads must be complete by November 7, 2026; incomplete squads will be dissolved and fees are non refundable. Awards are given to the top three squads.
