About the race
The Rubey Rescue Run is a Halloween themed community running event held at Koch Park in Aspen, Colorado. The event offers a timed 5.6K (3.5 mile) run and a 1 mile walk that use local open space and trail routes. The run route winds through the Marolt foot path and Marolt and Moore open space, starting and ending at Koch Park. The walk follows Midland Trail and returns via E. Hopkins Avenue.
The race awards cash prizes to the top three female and top three male finishers in the timed event. All net proceeds benefit the Friends of the Aspen Animal Shelter. Participants are encouraged to bring leashed dogs; costumes are welcome and there are prizes for best costumes. An auction, raffle prizes, and food and drink are part of the event experience; food and drink are included with entry.

Adult entry is $65; youth entry for ages 12 to 17 is $35. Entries include a Rubey Rescue Run insulated water bottle and sponsor-provided items. Strollers are allowed and on-site bib pickup is handled at Koch Park. The event is presented as a community fund-raiser supporting local animal welfare and veterinary scholarship efforts.
