About the race
Rubey Rescue Run is a Halloween themed community running event in Aspen, Colorado, held on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at Koch Park. The event offers a run and a shorter walk that follow trails and open space near the park and returns to the park for a community gathering.
Distances include:
- 5.6K (3.5 miles) timed run through the Marolt and Moore open space
- 1 mile walk via Midland Trail and E. Hopkins Avenue
The 5.6K is a timed race with cash prizes for the top three female and male finishers. All net proceeds benefit the Friends of the Aspen Animal Shelter. Participants are invited to bring leashed dogs; the event enforces an on-leash rule and waste pick up policy. Pets are encouraged to wear costumes and there are prizes for best costumes, raffle prizes, and food trucks on site.
Entry fees listed are Adults $65 and Kids (12-17) $35; registration includes a Rubey Rescue Run insulated water bottle and sponsor items. Strollers are allowed. The route begins and ends at Koch Park and winds through nearby trails and open space, providing a trail-style community event with family and pet-friendly elements.
