Event overview
The RRRC Sweetheart 8K is staged in Midlothian, Virginia, with in-person and virtual options. In person runs on Sunday, February 16; the virtual event runs February 14 - February 17. The course starts and finishes at Urban Farmhouse at The Millworks, and the in-person route passes through The Grove, Walton Park, and Midlothian Coal Mine Park. The event has been selected as the official 2026 RRCA 8k National Championship.

Details and rules
In-person registration includes chip timing, post-race snacks and refreshments, an event shirt (register by February 1 to guarantee size), and one raffle entry. In-person awards are given to top finishers overall, masters, grand masters, and age groups. A team costume contest and a couples challenge are part of the event; couple awards include the top couple finisher and a best couple photo prize. The minimum age to participate is 5 years on or before race day. Strollers, baby joggers, animals, bicycles, inline or roller skates, and skateboards are not allowed. Headphones are discouraged. There is one water stop with a hands-free and cup-free setup, so participants should bring their own bottle or cup. All entry and processing fees are non-refundable and non-transferable; transfers are allowed only via the wait list after the race has sold out.
