Event overview
The RRRC Sweetheart 8K is an in-person and virtual running event hosted in Midlothian, Virginia. The in-person race is an 8K described as a five mile route that runs through The Grove, Walton Park, and the historic Midlothian Coal Mine Park, starting and finishing at Urban Farmhouse at The Millworks. The event has also been selected as the official 2026 RRCA 8k National Championship.

Logistics and amenities
Pre-race bib pick-up is available the day before at Lucky Road Run Shop. Race day check-in and bib pick-up are at Urban Farmhouse at The Millworks. Virtual participants may run their 8K anywhere and submit results online during the event window. Registration includes chip timing for in-person runners, post-race snacks and refreshments, one raffle entry, and an RRRC Sweetheart 8K shirt if registered by February 1 to guarantee size. In-person awards are given to top finishers overall, masters, grand masters, and age groups.
Rules and policies
Minimum age to participate is 5 years old on or before race day. Strollers, baby joggers, animals, bicycles, inline or roller skates, and skateboards are not allowed. Headphones are discouraged for safety. There is one water stop on course with a hands-free, cup-free setup; participants should bring their own bottle or cup.
