Royal Wootton Bassett Sprint Triathlon

Royal Wootton Bassett Hounds Running Club stages the Royal Wootton Bassett Sprint Triathlon in Royal Wootton Bassett, Wiltshire, with the event village and finish at Royal Wootton Bassett Academy, SN4 7HG. The swim takes place in the local leisure centre.

Distances

• 400 m pool swim
• 22 km cycle on country roads
• 5 km run on paths, tracks and field

The 22 km bike route is described as a flat, fast, scenic circuit around surrounding villages. The 5 km run follows flat paths out toward the local rugby club and back. Organisers note the format is suitable for a first triathlon.

Entry fees are quoted as £50 for an individual and £65 for a relay team. Non British Triathlon members must purchase a British Triathlon Race Pass costing £8 directly from British Triathlon before the event. The minimum entry age is 15; participants must be 16 or older on 31 December 2027. Parental permission is required on the day for entrants under 18.

Facilities include an event village, registration hub within the Academy grounds, hot drinks and food stalls, toilets at registration and transition, water stations on route, and free on-site parking next to registration. A premium medal is provided to all finishers and a 100% recycled race T-shirt is available to order for £16. All profits from entry fees and sponsorship are donated to Wiltshire & Bath Air Ambulance; over £38,000 has been donated since the event began 13 years ago.

Prizes are awarded for overall and female 1st to 3rd, age category vets (40+, 50+, 60+, 70+), and 1st relay team. Photos and official images are published after the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
