Royal Victoria Marathon 2026
The event takes place in Victoria and Oak Bay, British Columbia, from October 9 to 11, 2026. It includes multiple distances over the weekend, with some races starting and finishing downtown Victoria and others at Willows Park in Oak Bay.

The course weaves through quiet streets with ocean views in Victoria and Oak Bay. The event is a Boston qualifier, an Abbott World Majors ranking event, and a World Athletics World Ranking Competition. The marathon has a 6.5-hour course time limit; runners must pass a 13K checkpoint within the event cutoff to continue on the marathon route or may switch to the half marathon.
There will be no early starts in 2026. Strollers and pets are not allowed on course; Nordic poles are permitted only for mobility-impaired participants. Events will be capped; in 2025 the marathon and half marathon sold out in July. A GREEN BIB option lets entrants forgo an RVM garment while still receiving a bib and medal, and allows selection of a charity to receive a donation. No refunds or deferrals are allowed for 2026; transfers to another person are permitted for a fee until October 7, 2026.
