2026 Royal Victoria Marathon
The Royal Victoria Marathon 2026 takes place in Victoria and Oak Bay, British Columbia, from October 9 to 11, 2026. This is the 46th annual edition and includes multiple distances alongside fundraising activity with a stated fundraising goal.
The course weaves through quiet streets and features ocean views throughout Victoria and Oak Bay. The event is a Boston qualifier, an Abbott World Majors ranking event, and a World Athletics World Ranking Competition.

The marathon, half marathon and 8K are scheduled for Sunday, October 11, starting and finishing in downtown Victoria. The 5K and Kids Run take place Saturday, October 10, at Willows Park in Oak Bay. The marathon has a total course time limit of 6.5 hours; runners who do not meet the event's mid-race 13 km cutoff must transfer to the half marathon distance or withdraw.
There is no early start for any distance in 2026. Events will be capped; the marathon and half marathon sold out in July 2025. Strollers and pets are not allowed on course; Nordic poles are permitted only for mobility-impaired participants. Refunds and deferrals are not allowed for 2026. Transfers to another person are permitted up to October 7, 2026 for a fee, and participants may opt into Race Roster's Enhanced Refund Program. A Green Bib option is available that provides a bib and medal without an event garment and allows selection of a charity for a donation.
