About the race
The 46th Royal Victoria Marathon is scheduled in Victoria, BC, Canada from October 9 to 11, 2026. The event program includes multiple race distances and community fundraising activities.

The marathon and half marathon start and finish in downtown Victoria on Sunday, October 11. The 5K and Kids Run take place on Saturday, October 10 at Willows Park in Oak Bay. The course weaves through quiet streets and offers ocean views in Victoria and Oak Bay.
The event is a Boston qualifier, an Abbott World Majors ranking event, and a World Athletics World Ranking Competition. The marathon has a course time limit of 6.5 hours; participants who do not pass the 13K checkpoint within the permitted time will be given the option to move to the half marathon or withdraw. There is no early start for any distance in 2026. Events will be capped for 2026; in 2025 the marathon and half marathon sold out in July.
A Green Bib registration option is offered where participants receive a bib and medal but no garment, and may designate a charity for a donation. No strollers or pets are allowed on course. Nordic poles are permitted only for mobility impaired participants. Refunds and deferrals are not allowed for 2026; transfers to another person are permitted for a fee until October 7, 2026. An enhanced refund program is available for purchase. Fundraising supports many local and national organizations and the event reports fundraising progress toward a CA$147,500 goal.
