About the race
The Royal Victoria Marathon is a multi-day road race event in Victoria, BC, Canada, held October 9 to 11, 2026 as the 46th edition.

The marathon, half marathon and 8K start and finish in downtown Victoria on Sunday, October 11. The 5K and Kids Run take place Saturday, October 10 at Willows Park in Oak Bay. The Kids Run registration opens February 16, 2026.
The marathon has a course time limit of 6.5 hours. There will be no early starts for any distance in 2026. Strollers and pets are not allowed on course; Nordic poles are allowed only for mobility impaired participants. Events will be capped for 2026 and the marathon and half marathon sold out in July 2025.
The event is a Boston qualifier, an Abbott World Majors ranking event, and a World Athletics World Ranking Competition. The course runs through quiet streets with ocean views in Victoria and Oak Bay and has produced many personal best times.
A Green Bib registration option is available that forgoes a garment while providing a bib and medal and allows the registrant to select a charity donation. No refunds or deferrals are permitted for 2026; transfers to another person are allowed for a fee until October 7, 2026. Fundraising to date shows CA$88,210.67 raised toward a CA$147,500.00 goal.
