Royal Victoria Marathon High Performance Application
This page describes the High Performance Application for the Royal Victoria Marathon events in Victoria, BC, Canada on October 11, 2026. The program accepts applications for elite athletes in the following events:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 8K
Applications open through an online system on March 1, 2026. Deadlines for submission are: Marathon May 1, Half Marathon May 1, and 8K June 30. Acceptance of late applications is at the discretion of the event organizer. The number of complimentary entries awarded depends on the number of applications received and verified finishing times; meeting the standard does not guarantee a complimentary entry.
The review process includes notification from the High Performance Coordinator. If an application is accepted, a comp code is issued so the athlete can register for the event within a specified window. If not accepted, the applicant will be contacted and may still register through the regular registration process.
Program goals include providing an environment for top Canadian and international distance athletes and fostering the development of Canadian runners. Prizes are awarded by category to top male and female open and masters athletes in the marathon and half marathon, with an additional incentive for breaking the course record. The Victoria Marathon Society, a registered not-for-profit, administers the event. The High Performance application is free. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
