Event
The 2026 Royal Victoria Marathon takes place in Victoria, BC, Canada from October 9 to 11, 2026. It is the 46th annual running of the event. The course runs through Victoria and Oak Bay and weaves through quiet streets with ocean views. The event is a Boston qualifier, an Abbott World Majors ranking event, and a World Athletics World Ranking Competition.

The marathon, half marathon and 8K start and finish in downtown Victoria on Sunday, October 11. The Kids Run and 5K take place at Willows Park in Oak Bay on Saturday, October 10.
Rules, limits and registration
There is a 6.5 hour course time limit for the marathon. Marathon participants must pass the 13K mark by 10:15 to continue on the marathon route; otherwise they may move to the half marathon distance or withdraw. There are no early starts in 2026. Strollers and pets are not allowed; Nordic poles are allowed only for mobility-impaired participants. Events will be capped; in 2025 the marathon and half marathon sold out in July. The event offers a "Green Bib" option where participants receive a bib and medal but no garment and may select a charity for a donation. No refunds or deferrals are allowed; registrations may be transferred to another person up to October 7, 2026 for a fee. The Race Roster Enhanced Refund Program is available as an option.
