Rowan Boland 5k
The Rowan Boland 5k takes place on 14 June 2026 at Gala Cricket Club, Meigle Park, Manse Street, Galashiels. The event is organised by Gala Harriers Athletic Club and has a listed total of 150 places with entries open.
Entry for the 5k carries a fee of £5; the organisers prefer online entry but day of entry is also available. There is a shorter Meigle run held before the 5k; that shorter run accepts entry on the day only and has a fee of £2. Registrations and number collection are available on the day.
The event includes family activities such as a bouncy castle and a BBQ. Proceeds from activities and entries are stated to go to the Rowan Boland Memorial Trust. Every participant in the 5k receives a finisher medal.
Prizes are awarded in a number of categories. These include first junior male under 16, first junior female under 16, overall male and female winners, and age-category winners for female and male in the 40+ and 50+ groups.
