About the race
Round the Bays Auckland is a community coastal run held on Sunday 7 March 2027 in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland. The event marks its 55th year and stages an 8.4 km course along the waterfront from Quay Street, following Tāmaki Drive to Vellenoweth Green in St Heliers.
The course is described as flat and open to participants of all ages and fitness stages. Infants aged 0–4 enter free. Organisers provide race bibs and timing chips, finisher’s medals and certificates for those who cross the finish line, on-course water stations, first aid, and access to a finishers' festival and sponsor activations. Free event shuttle buses are available.
Participants choose start groups based on expected finish time; group categories include Elite Wheelchair/Disability & Elite Runner (sub 36 mins), CELSIUS Runner (36–50 mins), Jogger (50–80 mins), and Walker and Non Elite Wheelchair/Disability (80+ mins). Pushchairs and buggies are permitted only in the Walker start group. Entries are not refundable but can be transferred through the Race Roster dashboard for a transfer fee of $20 plus card fees.
