Rotary Oktoberfest 5K
The Rotary Oktoberfest 5K is a community running event in Walhalla, South Carolina, located near 113 West Main Street. The event features a 5K race on a USATF-certified course that runs through the town. Electronic chip timing is used; the timing chip is adhered to the race bib and the chip time begins when the chip crosses the start line. Results are available live during the event and after the race.
Registration opens 17 March 2026 and closes 19 September 2026. The registration fee is $25.00. Race packets and bibs are distributed by registration volunteers, and bibs are worn on the front, outside of clothing.
Proceeds support literacy projects in Oconee County, including purchases of books through Scholastic Books for area elementary schools and an annual book drive with other area Rotary clubs to collect books for families who may not be able to purchase books. Funds also support the Rotary Community Grants Program, which has provided aid to organizations such as Collins Children’s Home, Cub Scout Pack 3031, Fostering Faithfully Grace’s Closet, Oconee County Sheriff’s Youth Leadership Camp, OMH Cancer Institute, Our Daily Rest, and Ripple of One.
