Roseburg Optimist 5 K Zombie Run
The event is a themed 5 K run/walk held on October 17, 2026 at Stewart Park in Roseburg, Oregon. It is presented as a fundraising activity for the Roseburg Optimist Club, with 100% of proceeds supporting children’s events in Douglas County.
Participants wear a flag on one side of the waist to represent health, and zone-based volunteers acting as zombies attempt to capture those flags along the course. Zombies are placed in designated zones and may give a brief chase while runners pass through those zones. Runners may choose to walk or run during the course. Competitors who lose their flag are classified as infected for results and awards purposes.
Entries carry a registration fee of $30. All participants receive a free event T shirt, a race bib, a flag, and snacks at the finish provided by Thrive Umpqua. Commemorative finisher medallions are awarded to both healthy and infected racers.
Timing is available to participants who request it; those requests are fulfilled by supplying a phone contact for result delivery. The event description focuses on the themed format, fundraising purpose, and the items provided to participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
