Roseburg Optimist 5 K Run/Walk
The Roseburg Optimist 5 K Run/Walk is a fundraising event held on October 17, 2026, at Stewart Park in Roseburg, Oregon. It supports the Roseburg Optimist Club; 100% of proceeds go to the club to fund children’s events in Douglas County.
The event uses a zombie concept on a 5 K course. Runners wear a flag on one side of the waist; flags represent the runner’s health and are provided by the organizer. Zombies are placed in designated zones along the route and attempt to capture runners’ flags while the runners pass through those zones. Zombies must remain in their assigned zones and may give chase only while runners are inside a zone. Medallions will be awarded to both runners who finish with their flag intact and to those who are infected by losing their flag.
Participants receive a race bib, a flag, a commemorative finisher medallion, a free event T shirt, and snacks at the finish provided by Thrive Umpqua.
