Root Beer 5K

Root Beer 5k : Avon, MN (September 12, 2026)
The event includes a community 5k, a free Kids 1k and a Toddler Trot. The 5k course starts and ends at Avon Community Church, passes through the city of Avon and uses the Lake Wobegon Trail for a flat out-and-back segment. The course is marked and staffed by volunteers, with a water stop approximately halfway. Root beer floats are provided at the finish.
Awards will be presented to the top finisher in each age group. Age group divisions are 20 and under, 21-39 and 40 and above. Participants who register before August 28 are guaranteed a t-shirt.
Registration details by event:
- 5K : registration opens May 1 and closes August 1; registration fee $20.00.
- Kids 1K : free; open to children ages 10 and under; registration opens May 1 and closes September 11.
- Toddler Trot : free; registration opens May 1 and closes September 11; the trot is held in the grass near the finish line.
