Roosevelt Run/Walk 5K
The Roosevelt Run/Walk 5K is a community running and walking event held in Arthurdale, West Virginia, on June 13, 2026. The course goes through Arthurdale's historic district, which features original New Deal homesteads. The event includes access to the historic grounds and family-oriented activities such as interacting with goats and celebrating the homestead history associated with First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt.

Registration pricing and items are time-dependent. Early pre-registration is priced at $30 if completed by May 13, and those pre-registered by that date will receive a t-shirt. Registrations after May 13 are priced at $35 and a t-shirt is not guaranteed. Pre-registration for both adults and kids closes on June 10 at midnight. On-site registration is available on the day of the event.
Awards are offered for top overall male and female 5K finishers and prizes are given for those placements. Top male and female finishers in each age category receive medals, and all participants in the kids race receive a medal. Run age brackets (split by male and female) include under 10, 11 to 14, 15 to 18, 19 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. Walk age brackets include under 10, 11 to 16, 17 to 39, 40 to 59, and 60 and over.
Arthurdale Heritage, which has worked for decades to preserve the community's New Deal homestead history, is associated with the event and its educational and tourism efforts. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
