The RODEO RUN 5K/10K : Huntington State Beach
The RODEO RUN is a cowboy western themed running event held at Huntington State Beach on March 15, 2026. The event offers multiple distances and family options, western music, live horses, line dance instructors, a learn to rope station, and a line dance warm up area. The finishers receive a custom cast medal that converts into a belt buckle and a western themed event shirt. Timing is provided with RFID chip timing by Itz About Time.

The course runs on a paved beach path with beach views and is described as flat and fast. The route is open to the public and will be shared with cyclists, other runners, and dog walkers. Water is available at the 1 mile and 2 mile marks and at 10K turn arounds. Families may bring strollers and leashed dogs; stroller users are asked to start at the back and accept personal risk.
Race day packet pickup and walk up registration are available at the site, with early packet pickup to be announced. Awards include age division prizes in five year spans from 1 to 10 up through 85 and over, plus top overall trophies. Parking options include state park parking with a charge for entry and nearby Pacific City parking. The event also solicits donations to support Miss Pam’s Ranch and improvements for wheelchair accessibility. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
